What did I obtain from the previous school education in China? Can the skills I have learnt really make me a better person? Sadly however, instead of creativity and the spirit of discovery, the only thing I have learnt is pretty much "how to score well in the crazy exams". As for me, a sphere of whole new particular knowledge can not evoke my interest of searching or discovering already. The first thing comes out in my mind is the exam format and even questions involved, which means I have already become an "exam machine" that can only figure out so call CORRECT ANSWER.
Is there a CORRECT ANSWER for everything? Obviously, the answer is NO. However, in order to test the "ability" of the students as we can acquire and get familiar with the knowledge we should know, schools, sadly, have no other choices but to set a particular and only answer for everything. That is totally understandable for us, because it is so far the most efficient and fair system which can tell whether a student has good understanding in certain knowledges.(At least in China, because of a large population.) Within this circumstance, chinese students are sharply less creative than students in America, Europe, Japan and some other countries. A country with a population of 1.3 billion people have never nurtured a single Nobel Price winner? Not only inappropriate, it is ridiculous.
So, in a word, creativity is what the world need and should be the purpose of education, but for some reason, what students go through may not help them to reach that aim.

What is an exposition?

Exposition
Unfortunately, I did not even know this word at all, so I read through the handout and searched in wikipedia.
Sequence: Writing lists, events or steps in chronological order.
Descriptive essays: Use the senses of sight smell, touch, hearing and taste to provide the reader with a mental image or feeling about the subject.
Classification: Writing uses an organisatinal strategy to arrange groups of objects or ideas according to a common theme.
Comparison: Writing shows the similarities and differences between two or more subjects.
Cause and effect: Writing, also known as analysis, identifies the reasons for an event or situation.
We can see obviously that there are 5 different types of exposition. The handout we received indicates that an exposition is a rhetorical discourse that provides information about or an explanation to difficult material and the purpose is either to inform, explain, argue, analyse or define.
That is to say an exposition can indicate something difficult to the readers in a way easier to understand. 'Something' can be a object, a method, a procedure or even a specific view of the writer. In order to plant his or her view about something into readers' brain, writers are tend to argue a point or a dispute. If it is a object, functions or charactoristics will be elaborated.
That is so call an exposition.
